Why book a newborn photoshoot?
Your newborn baby will not stay little for long. Their features change rapidly, and you'll notice how quickly they outgrow their clothes. Capture all the delicate features while they last.
When to book a newborn photo shoot?
You can book a newborn photo shoot, after 20 weeks of pregnancy. First, we make a tentative booking based on your due date, to ensure we have available spaces. When you arrive home from the hospital with your little one, you can contact me to arrange a suitable day and time for your session.
When is the best time to photograph a newborn?
The best time to have your newborn photos taken is between 1-2 weeks of life, preferably when the baby is around 6-10 days old. After two weeks, babies are a little harder to settle, they don`t sleep as much, and things like colic and baby acne can flare up.
If your baby is around 2-3 months old, do not worry. We can still achieve beautiful, candid family photos. Patience is the key to success.
What happens before, during and after a photoshoot?
After the booking is made you will have access to a guide that will help you prepare for your session and a backdrop catalogue from where you can easily pick your favourites.
When all your choices are made we can have a 30-minute consultation. I want to know as many details as possible. Planning everything will help us have a smooth and pleasant photography session.
The newborn photoshoot will be in my Hemel Hempstead home studio, where you can relax and watch me while I take photos of your newborn baby. The room is nice and warm so wear something comfortable. If you want family photos with the baby, I recommend wearing clothing with neutral colours, no patterns, logos, or accessories.
The newborn sessions last between 1 and 4 hours, depending on your chosen package. We have plenty of time for feeding, nappy changes, and cuddles.
After the session, you can view and choose your favourite images. As soon as I know which photos you like the most, I can beautifully enhance them. Then, around ten days later, you can view the final results. The turnaround for the printed images is about ten days from placing the order and for the wall art please allow 2 months.
The final payment for the chosen package can be made at the end of the session in cash or bank transfer.

£99 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The amount will be deducted from your final order.
Additional images can be purchased at £30 per image.
Booking a sitter baby photoshoot or ordering wall art after your newborn session is optional. If you opt for one or both, the amount will be deducted from your final payment if you choose the Gorgeous Smile package.
