Custom setups for cake smash photoshoots

I am happy to announce that I am open to CUSTOM CAKE SMASH themes.

What does that mean?

Until recently, we`ve worked with the printed backdrops we had in the studio to create the wonderful cake smash set-ups, but we understand that everyone is different, and we embrace it here. You might want a BEE, FAIRY or SEA theme, and I will do my best to search for everything we need and get beautiful decorations that match your preferred theme and vision. We will include more elements in the decor, like balloon garlands and props, that we can move and change if needed until we get the desired effect.

You might wonder what the difference is between those two...

A printed backdrop is a pre-designed background with a fixed image. It offers a consistent look.

A custom setup is unique and created specifically for your session. We use available props, fabrics, and balloons to design a personalised theme. Since we source materials at the time of ordering, colours and details may vary from what you’ve seen on our page. That means we can not replicate 100% of the same setup.

Custom setups allow for more creativity, while printed backdrops provide a reliable, repeatable look.

THE PROCESS

First, the booking. I need to know what day and hour are best for you, and I will lock the date in my calendar.

Afterwards, we will have a consultation, which is when I will get to know your heart's desires. I will look for the items, and you will be presented with the options. You get to choose the ones you think are best for the set-up we want to create. I will be in contact with you every step of the way.

With my printed backdrops, I could easily change three set-ups because I kept them on top of each other and strip them one by one from the baby alone to the baby and cake and splash part. By creating a custom theme, I will have to use different elements that take more space, are harder to move, and take longer to set up; we will be able to have only one, sometimes 2 set-ups (depending on the theme).

For example, the baby alone can be on a printed backdrop, and for the cake and splash part, we can use your chosen theme. Or we can do all the cake smash parts on the custom decor. We will have our usual studio backdrops for the family images, and you will receive a catalogue from which you can choose the one you like the most.

For custom cake smashes, I recommend booking at least 1-2 months in advance. I need time to find and order the perfect outfit and decorative elements. To cover the time involved in the process and the cost of the items, there will be a non-refundable booking fee of £99. The amount is deductible from your final order.

During the shoot, I will guide you from start to finish. We all know that children's moods change fast, but I will do my best to capture beautiful pictures and give plenty of time for the baby to settle if needed.

After the photoshoot

We will go through the photos, and you will choose the ones you like the most. In approximately 3-5 days, you can download the edited digital images through an online private link.
